Assessing the new national quality mark
Sadler Energy and Environmental Services are please to be one of the first companies to be involved in assessing the BRE's new national Home Quality Mark scheme
The Home Quality Mark is a new voluntary set of standards design for new homes, using a simple 5-star rating to provide prospective buyers with impartial information on the design and construction quality and running costs of the property.
The scheme will use a number of key indicators to help rate the dwelling, between 1 and 5 stars. These include the impact the home has on the occupant's health and well-being, the home's environmental footprint and its resilience to flooding and overheating in and an evaluation of the digital connectivity and performance of the home as the speed, reliability and connectivity of new technology becomes ever more critical.
The Home Quality Mark has been developed by BRE, the UK's leading building science centre, based on years of building standards experience. It is part of the BREEAM family of quality and sustainability standards.
