Code for Sustainable Homes

Fully Accredited BRE Code Assessors Registration and Certification

Code for Sustainable Homes is an assessment grading scheme for new build developments, which can be required as part of a planning condition or contract with local authorities or housing associations.

The Code for Sustainable Homes (CfSH) is used to assess a dwelling or development for sustainability. Sadler Energy are able to offer advice at both the Design Stage Assessment (DSA) and Post Construction Review (PCR) to help you achieve your development goals.

What is the CfSH

In April 2007, the CfSH scheme replaced EcoHomes for the assessment of new housing in England. The Code is an Environmental Assessment method for new homes, based upon the Building Research Establishment's (BRE) EcoHomes and contains mandatory performance levels in seven key areas including energy, water and waste.

The Code aims to protect the environment by providing guidance on the construction of high performance homes built with sustainability in mind.

Great to work with and get the job done.

Graeme Brown

From the very initial contact with the firm we found all the staff to be very friendly and helpful to deal with responding and answering to all our questions in a timely manner. The two visits we required were easy to arrange and Mr Sadler was very helpful and understanding in enabling us to pass our air tightness test. We would certainly recommend Sadler Energy and would use them again if we ever built a new house again.
