Team SEES Takes on the Great South Run for Naomi House & Jacksplace! πββοΈ
A weekend of running, fundraising, friendly competition and some very tired legs!
What a fantastic weekend for Team SEES, taking part in the Great South Run events in Portsmouth to raise money for the incredible Naomi House & Jacksplace charity. Our team gave up their free time to take on the challenge alongside thousands of other runners, all supporting some fantastic causes. With brilliant organisation, enthusiastic crowds and encouragement around the Portsmouth course, the atmosphere was amazing from start to finish.
Of course, when you get a group of work colleagues running together, it’s always important to be just a smidge competitive! π A little friendly rivalry never hurt anyone, although some of us might have slightly regretted it the following morning!
And, as our younger colleagues reliably informed us, having the right playlist is absolutely essential to getting around the course. Apparently, it’s all about the music, not just the training!
Our favourite quote of the weekend had to be:
βI’ve never done a 10k beforeβ¦β
βIt’s 10 milesβ¦β
βOh, I’ve never done that either!β
Despite a few surprises about the distances involved, everyone did brilliantly! After running on both days, there were certainly some exhausted faces and aching legs, but it was all worth it.
We’ve Smashed Our Fundraising Target, Can You Help Us Reach Β£1,000?
We originally set ourselves a target of Β£500, and thanks to everyone’s generosity, we’ve already smashed it! We’re now hoping to double that amount and raise Β£1,000 for Naomi House & Jacksplace, which provides vital care and support for children and young adults with life-limiting and life-threatening conditions, and their families. If you can spare a few pounds, we’d be incredibly grateful for your support. Naomi House & Jacksplace: SEESβs page
