Building Regulations
New build homes require SAP calculations to obtain planning permission before commencement of works.
These calculations have to be carried out under the building regulations defined in Part L1A, which analyses the carbon emissions and thermal performance of the building fabric.
The calculations are then used to produce an Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) which rates the energy efficiency of the property from A to G.
